Dave and Chris meet Austin, NV, local Dee Helming and explore the Toiyabe Range along the Gold Venture Loop. The view from the top is remarkable, as is the beauty of Birch Creek Canyon. Next, it’s west on Highway 50 to make a stop at Middlegate, the former Pony Express stop. After a night in Fallon, the episode visits Hidden Cave with Donna Cossette, preceded by fascinating petroglyphs and exploration of an ancient rock shelter. The trip ends at Buckland Station, an historic river crossing where Samuel Buckland built his home using materials that were formerly part of Fort Churchill.
