PBS Reno Launches Better Together Challenge Featuring
The Children’s Cabinet and Raley’s O-N-E Market

RENO, NV (Nov. 22, 2021) – PBS Reno is excited to launch its Better Together Challenge throughout the 2021 holiday season and invites the community to support two local non-profits at the same time with a single donation!

If 200 new members join PBS Reno by making a donation in any amount by January 1, 2022, Raley’s O-N-E Market will provide a generous gift of $10,000 each to The Children’s Cabinet and PBS Reno. You can become a member of PBS Reno by calling 775.600.0550 or by visiting the station’s secure website. Donation options include a singular amount, or a monthly sustainer option, which allows viewers to contribute smaller amounts throughout the year.

“The Better Together Challenge is so important to our community,” said Kurt Mische, PBS Reno President and CEO. “We are honored and grateful to have the participation of Raley’s O-N-E Market as we work to benefit The Children’s Cabinet during this season of giving.”

“The Children’s Cabinet is thrilled to be part of the Better Together Challenge,” said Kim Young, Executive Director of The Children’s Cabinet. “This partnership demonstrates organizations collaborating to support one another to provide resources, information and educational opportunities in our community. As our community continues to grow, working together is more important than ever. We thank PBS Reno for leading the Better Together Challenge, and for including The Children’s Cabinet, so we can make positive strides and support each other. A thank you also to Raley’s O-N-E Market for sponsoring the challenge; what a great example of corporate-non-profit support.”

“At Raley’s, we believe in supporting our neighbors all year round to build stronger communities,” said Becca Whitman, Raley’s Director of Community Relations. “By supporting PBS Reno and The Children's Cabinet, we will be able to have an even greater impact on our communities.”

This is the third Better Together Challenge PBS Reno has held since the pandemic began. In June 2020, the Nell J. Redfield Foundation split a $20,000 gift between PBS Reno and Food Bank of Northern Nevada. During the 2020 holiday season, Nevada Gold Mines split a $20,000 gift between PBS Reno and Eddy House. PBS Reno succeeded in surpassing its goal of welcoming 200 new PBS Reno members during each challenge.
