Deadline Extended to Submit Nominations for the 2022 PBS Reno Spotlight Awards and Auction

RENO, NV (May 13, 2022) — If you know a deserving teacher, young person, friend, non-profit, or local business that is making a difference in the lives of others in northern and central Nevada, here is your chance to make sure they receive the recognition they deserve!

The deadline to submit nominations for the 2022 PBS Reno Spotlight Awards and Auction has been extended to Friday, May 20, 2022 at 5 p.m. The categories include Extraordinary Educator, Extraordinary Youth, Extraordinary Individual, Extraordinary Community Group, and Extraordinary Local Business.

The public is invited to submit nominations in each category online. PBS Reno will announce three finalists in each category in July, with weekly online voting through August 15. The winners will be announced during the PBS Reno Spotlight Awards and Auction on Friday, September 16, 2022, at the Grande Exposition Hall at the Silver Legacy Resort Casino. During the event, PBS Reno will honor the Carano Family for their philanthropic work in the community with the Extraordinary Philanthropists award. The Carano Family works with and benefits numerous local non-profits and organizations including Boys and Girls Club of Truckee Meadows, Youth in Pursuit, University of Nevada Athletics, Nevada Basketball Academy, Salvation Army, Volunteers of America, Keep Memory Alive, Urban Roots, Step2, Wooster High School, and the Nevada Humane Society.
