PBS Reno Launches YouTube Channel

RENO, NV (September 6, 2022) — – PBS Reno has launched a brand new YouTube channel, giving viewers another new way to enjoy and stream the station’s content from ARTEFFECTS, STEM Works, and Wild Nevada -- and watch some locally-produced content early!

Viewers are encouraged to go to YouTube.com, search PBS Reno, then “like and subscribe” the PBS Reno YouTube channel to stream local content and receive notifications when new content is added several times each week.

“In our ever changing world of content creation it is important for us to expand into non-linear forms of media,” said PBS Reno Content Creator Guinivere Clark. “Platforms like YouTube are a great entry way for PBS Reno to follow the audience and share our quality content with the world! As a young person who spends a lot of time on streaming platforms, it makes me really excited that PBS Reno is expanding in this way. This opens us up for even more opportunity in the future and I cannot wait to see what new quality content will result from it.”

Each Monday at 10am, PBS Reno will post a new STEM Works video. PBS Reno STEM Works is a digital-first series hosted by Hana, an energetic and cheerful young woman who takes viewers to northern Nevada-based businesses including Tesla, Google, Desert Research Institute, NV Energy, Nevada Mining Association, and more. The digital shorts feature interviews with professionals in their respective fields as they discuss what makes their work so interesting. The goal is to get more kids interested in STEM-related fields in their communities and beyond.

PBS Reno will begin posting episodes of Wild Nevadato its YouTube channel on Mondays at 10am beginning in late October.

Every Wednesday at 10am, PBS Reno will post a segment from ARTEFFECTS, the series that celebrates artists and arts organizations in northern and central Nevada. This coming season all new segments of ARTEFFECTS will premiere on YouTube before the full episode broadcasts the following Sunday on PBS Reno channel 5.1 at 6:30pm.

ARTEFFECTS begins its 8th season on October 9, 2022. PBS Reno will produce several more local stories to viewers through the award-earning series.

“PBS Reno’s mission is to Entertain Your Curiosity, which is why we are excited to add even more avenues for viewers to enjoy our great content,” said Megan Myers, PBS Reno VP of Content. “We are meeting our viewers where they are, whether that be via traditional television, streaming, digital media, or YouTube. We have a vested interest in this community!  Throughout the coming years you will see PBS Reno continue to expand our mark in newer delivery methods for media to reach you and your families for generations to come.”
