I am truly humbled to work alongside such talented and creative individuals.”
The PBS Reno Spotlight Awards and Auction celebrates the philanthropic work of several members of the community. In 2022, the Carano Family was recognized as Extraordinary Philanthropists of the Year.
Wild Nevada Memories was produced during the height of the COVID pandemic and gave fans new insight from Wild Nevada hosts Chris Orr and Dave Santina, along with other production members, who revisited original episodes with behind-the-scenes perspective.
ARTEFFECTS is currently in its 8th season, having launched in 2016 on PBS Reno. More than 130 locally-produced segments featuring local artists and arts organizations have been picked up for national distribution, providing numerous regions with positive exposure to northern and central Nevada.
The PBS Reno series Classical Tahoe features the Classical Tahoe summertime concerts, which bring together dozens of musicians to perform classical music in the Lake Tahoe area. Look for a new season in the summer of 2023.
STEM Works is PBS Reno’s first “digital only” series that features professionals in local companies based in STEM who describe what their jobs are like, and how young people can get involved with incredible careers in the northern Nevada region.
“PBS Reno is honored to be recognized with a Communicator Award for our STEM Works Digital Shorts series,” said Diane Barrett, PBS Reno Community Partnership Executive. “We believe we’ve discovered the “special sauce” to get kids excited about pursuing job opportunities in STEM. It’s so important to show our youth diversity in STEM industries and to highlight these jobs are achievable for everyone. Each STEM employee PBS Reno has interviewed has taken a unique path to get to where they are today, and it doesn’t always follow a traditional four-year college.”
