New Season of Wild Nevada Debuts Tonight on PBS Reno

RENO, NV (JUNE 4, 2020) –PBS Reno is thrilled to announce the debut of Season 5 of the wildly popular local production, Wild Nevada, tonight on PBS Reno. Wild Nevada features hosts Chris Orr and Dave Santina, who travel to Nevada’s 17 counties and capture the beauty and culture the state.

A 90-minute special featuring the first episode of the new season will premiere at 7:30pm on PBS Reno channel 5.1 and Spectrum channel 785. The program will also feature Chris and Dave answering viewer questions about the series and what goes into its production, along with the “best of” moments from Season 4.

Fans are invited to participate in a live watch party” on the station’s Facebook page starting 8:15pm.

Since the series began in 2001, Chris and Dave have explored Nevada inside and out; documenting the state’s splendor and history in a format that takes PBS viewers along for the ride and encourages them to go on their own adventures.

“Right now everyone is ready to get outside and travel just about anywhere,” said Dave Santina. “With so many events cancelled lately, it’s good to know about places that are worth visiting any time of year, and Wild Nevada is the perfect show for that. This season we visit a lot of places that are brand new to us and also return to a few favorites that offer entirely new experiences.”

Some of the exciting locations that will be featured in Season 5 of Wild Nevada include River Fork Ranch, Echo Canyon State Park, Pioche’s Million Dollar Courthouse, Cherry Creek, and Massacre Rim Dark Sky Sanctuary.
