Tim Lenard, Production Media Technician of PBS Reno

RENO, NV (APR 5, 2024)PBS Reno has hired Tim Lenard for the role of Production Media Technician. Lenard started his new role on March 25, 2024.

Lenard has several years of production experience in a freelance capacity, having filmed and engineered audio for the PBS Reno production Wild Nevada and filming documentary and promotional videos from conception to finished product. Lenard most recently served as Visual Content Editor for The Nevada Independent, where he coordinated visual elements for website and social media channels. Before earning his Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from the University of Nevada, Reno in 2018, Lenard served four years in the U.S. Army as a Sergeant and Fire Team Leader with an infantry platoon based in Italy that included two deployments to Afghanistan.

“I always enjoyed working with the PBS Reno crew as a freelancer so I’m excited to join the team full-time,” Lenard said. “I grew up with PBS and the Reno station is a great example of what public broadcasting does so well: building community by showcasing the interesting people and places right in our backyard. I’m looking forward to being a part of that.”

As Production Media Technician, Lenard will work with PBS Reno Content Creators on the station’s numerous production projects, including but not limited to Wild Nevada, ARTEFFECTS, STEM Works, and other award-earning productions; the annual PBS Reno Spotlight Awards & Auction and other fundraising opportunities for the station, and a variety of educational content including the PBS Reno Writers Contest, JOYful Moments, FoodNotes*, and more.

“Tim is a great fit for PBS Reno,” said Megan Myers, PBS Reno Vice President of Content. “When he worked as a freelance videographer for Wild Nevada, we noticed his enthusiasm and passion for the work produced by PBS Reno. He has a deep understanding of broadcast production including studio needs and demonstrates an overall outlook of our services that is instrumental to the workflow of our department. We are thrilled to have him join the team in a fulltime capacity. I look forward to his wonderful insight and how he will contribute to our ability to entertain our community for years to come.”
