2022 FINALISTS | Extraordinary Youth
BENJAMIN BROWDER
Benjamin Browder is just a sophomore in high school, but his dedication to local theatre, specifically in stage management and tech, has extended beyond his high school theatre department. He chooses to be behind the scenes and often receives little public recognition, but anyone who has worked with him will tell you his level of dedication, professionalism, and attention to detail is at a level that many strive to attain.
DENALI COOKE
Denali Cooke, of Truckee, CA, is an extraordinary young woman who gives of her time continually. She is a lifetime Girl Scout and recently earned her Gold Award (the highest girl-earned award in Girl Scouting). For her project, Denali inspired young women and minority youth at the Boys and Girls Club of North Lake Tahoe to consider a career in the STEM fields. Denali is deserving of recognition for her willingness to share her talents and time to better her community.
EVERETT HOGAN
Not only is Everett Hogan a straight-A sixth-grader, but he also participates in several sports teams, and helps other students with their schoolwork. Everett mows lawns and shovels snow for elderly neighbors, without accepting payment to help those in his neighborhood. For most of his birthdays, he asks friends to bring pet food instead of gifts so that he can donate to the animal shelter. His teachers always state they wish they had a class full of kids like him who strive to help the world around him a better place.
