About PBS Reno
Our Mission is to entertain your curiosity. Our Vision is to provide trustworthy and accessible quality content and educational services.
PBS Reno is northern Nevada’s home for trusted public media, educational resources, and locally produced storytelling that reflects and serves the diverse communities of northern and central Nevada and northeastern California. Since its launch on September 29, 1983, PBS Reno has delivered high‑quality public television and digital content designed to inform, inspire, and enrich lives.
In fiscal year 2024–2025, PBS Reno reached an average of 592,189 monthly viewers across multiple platforms, including three broadcast channels—PBS Reno 5.1, Reno Create 5.2, and PBS KIDS on PBS Reno 5.3—as well as YouTube, YouTube TV, livestreams, on‑demand streaming, and other digital platforms. In addition to presenting the best of PBS national programming, PBS Reno produces award‑winning local content that highlights regional stories, culture, and community voices. Many of these local segments are shared weekly on PBS Reno’s YouTube channel, expanding access beyond traditional broadcast.
PBSReno.org serves as a dynamic hub for community engagement, offering interactive resources and on‑demand viewing through watch.PBSReno.org, the station’s video portal for streaming locally produced programs and most PBS national content anytime, anywhere.
Education is at the heart of PBS Reno’s mission. The station supports students, teachers, parents, and caregivers through immersive educational initiatives, including Curiosity Classroom workshops, which bring classroom lessons to life with standards‑based activities and hands‑on learning experiences. These services help empower learners of all ages and support educators across the region.
PBS Reno is proud to be a community‑supported organization. Its work is made possible through the generous support of local corporations and foundations, along with thousands of individual members who believe in the power of public media. Together, PBS Reno continues its longstanding commitment to education, creativity, and community service—on air, online, and in the classroom.
