Title: HR Generalist 
Reports to:  VP of Administration
Department:  G&A             
Supervisory Position: No
Salary: $55,000-$65,000
 

JOB SUMMARY & EXPECTATIONS:

The HR Generalist plays a key role in supporting daily human resources operations, including payroll coordination, personnel record maintenance, benefits administration, onboarding and offboarding processes, and reporting. This role requires high attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Payroll & Benefits

  • Liaison between PBS Reno and NETA payroll team to coordinate timely payroll processing
  • Maintain accurate payroll documentation and resolve staff payroll questions
  • Administer benefit plans including health, dental, vision, 401(k), and supplemental plans
  • Support annual benefits open enrollment and related employee communications

 

Personnel Records & HRIS

  • Maintain both digital and physical personnel files in compliance with policy
  • Track and ensure timely completion of performance evaluations
  • Manage and update the HRIS system with employee data, role changes, and documentation
  • Maintain up-to-date staff job descriptions

 

Policies & Reporting

  • Assist in the review and updating of employee handbooks and HR policies
  • Support preparation of EEO, SABS and SAS reports, working with relevant departments

 

Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Coordinate job postings, screen resumes, and schedule interviews
  • Assist in the preparation of onboarding documentation and orientation logistics
  • Support offboarding activities and documentation

 

General HR Support

  • Provide administrative support to the VP of Administration and other departments on HR-related tasks
  • Assist with compliance requirements and filing needs as assigned

     

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE REQUIRED (an equivalent amount of training, education and experience will be considered):

• Associate degree or higher preferred; experience in human resources or related field
• 3+ years’ experience in an HR or administrative support role
• Familiarity with payroll and HRIS systems
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• High level of discretion, integrity, and professionalism
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel
