PBS Reno Announces 2022 Board of Trustees
RENO, NV (Dec. 3, 2021) – – The PBS Reno Board of Trustees is pleased to announce its elected officers for 2022.
Mark Herron will serve as Chair and will work closely with Christine Fey, Vice Chair; Don Kowitz, Finance and Audit Chair; and Stacey Montooth, Secretary. All four officers served in their respective capacities in 2021 and were re-elected in November.
“For more than 38 years, PBS Reno has enjoyed solid, visionary leadership from our board and its executive committee,” said Kurt Mische, PBS Reno President and CEO. “We know that this group of officers will continue that great tradition.”
Mark Herron is President & CEO of The Davidson Group, the investment management and philanthropic office of educational software entrepreneur Bob Davidson and his family. Herron received his BSE in civil engineering from Princeton University and his MBA in finance from the UCLA Anderson School of Management. In addition to the PBS Reno board, Herron serves on several corporate boards, the Board of Trustees of Scripps College and the Governing Board of the Davidson Academy of Nevada, a high school for highly gifted students at the University of Nevada, Reno and online. Herron and his wife Susan have resided in Incline Village for more than 20 years.
“Susan and I have been supporters of public television for as long as I can remember and it has been an honor to serve as a member of board of PBS Reno for over 17 years, alongside so many talented and dedicated board members,” said Herron. “My board colleagues and predecessor board chairs, along with an exceptional professional staff, have created at PBS Reno one of the most innovate and strongest members of the PBS system. I look forward to continuing leadership of the board as Board Chair and continuing that legacy.”
Christine Fey earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Anthropology and Master’s Degree in Land Use Planning from the University of Nevada, Reno. During her 29-year tenure with the City of Reno, Fey was a Planner for new development, neighborhood planning, long range planning and historic preservation. Fey also served two terms as the Vice President of the Nevada Chapter of the American Planning Association, staffed the Reno Arts and Culture Commission for 26 years and serves on several non-profit boards in the Reno area. Fey has resided in Reno for more than 40 years and raised her two children here.
“I am honored to be Vice Chair of the PBS Reno Board of Trustees,” said Fey. “I look forward to continuing to work on behalf of our viewers, staff, donors and partners to continue to offer our excellent on air/streaming programming and our educational programs.”
