PBS Reno Hires Development Officer and Content Creator

Cortney Arrington, Development Officer

RENO, NV (Jan. 10, 2022) — PBS Reno is pleased to start off the New Year by welcoming two new employees to its staff. Cortney Arrington and Alex Muench joined the team on Monday, January 3, 2022.

Cortney Arrington is the new Development Officer and grant writer at PBS Reno. She will work to ensure the station secures the grant funding needed to bring PBS favorites to viewers, produce local series, including Wild Nevada and ARTEFFECTS; and support the station’s thriving Education Services department which provides thousands of Curiosity Classroom workshops to local students, along with the annual Writers Contest for students in grades K-3.

“I’m so happy to join the PBS Reno team,” said Arrington. “Everyone at the organization shows up with so much dedication and passion and I can’t thank everyone enough for making me feel so welcome. I’m really looking forward to working with the team to bring in funding for the incredible programs and resources that PBS Reno offers to the community.”

Arrington previously worked as a Resource Development Coordinator at Truckee Meadows Parks Foundation, where she wrote grants for the organization.

“I am thrilled to have Cortney joining the team as the station’s primary grant writer and our new Development Officer,” said Emma Glenn, PBS Reno Vice President of Development. “She will be a great asset to PBS Reno, playing an integral role in fundraising and working to further the station’s mission to Entertain Your Curiosity.”

Alex Muench, Content Creator III

Alex Muench joins PBS Reno as a Content Creator III, marking his return to the local public television station. Muench previously worked for PBS Reno and edited the station’s Cargo series which featured musical performances at Whitney Peak Hotel in Downtown Reno. Muench is a seasoned freelance videographer for Wild Nevada and producer/editor of the PBS Reno STEM Works Digital Short series, and will continue work on both productions as a full-time employee of PBS Reno.

“I’ve always loved everything that PBS does to help inform and educate our community,” said Muench. “Having the opportunity of being able to put my creative skills to work to help with that mission is extremely exciting and rewarding. I'm thrilled to return to PBS Reno and use my skillset to grow our fantastic Content and Marketing team.”

“We couldn’t be more thrilled to have Alex back with us,” said Megan Myers, PBS Reno Vice President of Content and Marketing. “His videography, editing and producing experience alone makes him a valuable addition to our group of talented content creators. The fact that we are already familiar with him and he knows the environment of our station and region is an added bonus.”
