Dr. Jeffrey Alexander Joins PBS Reno Board of Trustees
RENO, NV (SEP 23, 2025) – PBS Reno is pleased to welcome Dr. Jeffrey Alexander to the PBS Reno Board of Trustees.
Dr. Alexander was appointed as the President of Truckee Meadows Community College (TMCC) in Reno, Nevada in 2025. With a focus on teaching, learning, and student success, he leads a talented team that continually develops innovative educational opportunities for the students and employers of northern Nevada.
Previously, Dr. Alexander served as the Vice President of Academic Affairs at TMCC, leading efforts to foster improved student performance, retention, and workforce training. In addition to his focus on creating complementary skills certificates for transfer-degree seekers, he also led the development of a Credit for Prior Learning program via Portfolio or Workforce Certification, as well as an Open Educational Resource (OER) program that saves TMCC students nearly $1 million annually in textbook costs.
“PBS Reno’s mission to Entertain your Curiosity is at the heart of what makes them so special in our region,” said Dr. Alexander. “I have seen firsthand how they spark imagination, fuel learning at every age, and tell stories that deepen our understanding of the world around us. I am honored to support an organization that continues to inspire and enrich the northern Nevada community.”
A passionate supporter of higher education, Dr. Alexander builds relationships throughout the community. He serves on the Nevadaworks board, is a member of the Rotary Club of Sparks, and previously served as Chair of the Western Alliance of Community College Academic Leaders, under the Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education (WICHE)
“We are honored to have Dr. Alexander join our board,” said Kurt Mische, PBS Reno President & CEO. “PBS Reno has a history of outstanding board participation from previous TMCC presidents, who have brought helpful perspectives to our work. We know Dr. Alexander will do the same.”
PBS Reno Board of Trustees meetings are held quarterly at PBS Reno (1670 N. Virginia Street in Reno) and are open to the public. For more information, call (775) 600-0555 or visit pbsreno.org/about/board-of-trustees
