PBS Reno Launches Matching Grant Campaign
Matching grant campaign takes place August 1-31, 2026
RENO, NV (JUL 31, 2026) – Today PBS Reno announced a matching grant campaign that will support its services including local productions, community events, online resources, and the popular Curiosity Classroom workshop program.
Right now, every financial contribution made to PBS Reno will have double the impact! Every donation made to PBS Reno during the month of August will be matched dollar-for-dollar, up to $30,000, thanks to The Dr. Tim McFarren and Dr. Sandra Koch Charitable Fund.
“We want to keep PBS Reno strong by supporting its vital services in local classrooms and on the air,” said Drs. McFarren and Koch. “We see how our independent public television station strengthens our community by providing access to unbiased local and national news. We so enjoy PBS News Hour, the insightful documentaries, Wild Nevada, and many other programs only found on PBS Reno.”
PBS Reno is fully funded by viewers in northern and central Nevada and northern California and does not receive federal funding. Over the past year, PBS Reno is grateful to have experienced continued and renewed support – both financial and in the form of phone calls, emails, and in-person comments – from the community.

Becoming a monthly sustainer at $10, $20, or $30 a month is a popular option. Members may also make a larger contribution as frequently as they wish.
