“Supporting local students and families is one of the most meaningful ways we can invest in the future of our communities,” said Ryan Bellows, NV Energy Vice President and General Counsel and NV Energy Foundation board member. “Through a $25,000 grant to PBS Reno’s Curiosity Classroom initiative, the NV Energy Foundation is helping provide engaging, hands-on STEM learning opportunities that inspire curiosity, encourage lifelong learning, and make educational resources more accessible to children across Nevada. We’re proud to partner with PBS Reno to help students build the skills and confidence they need to thrive both in and out of the classroom.”

PBS Reno Curiosity Classroom workshops include an engaging video clip, a read aloud, and fun hands-on activities. Each lesson is aligned to the Common Core Standards, Next Generation Science Standards and Nevada Academic Content Standards. All materials are supplied and a trained facilitator leads each 45- to 60-minute workshop.

During the 2025-2026 school year, PBS Reno delivered 6,873 workshops to 130,378 students in nine school districts in northern and central Nevada and northeastern California.

“The NV Energy Foundation is a treasured partner of PBS Reno,” said Kurt Mische, PBS Reno President & CEO. “The foundation generously supports our important work, which like NV Energy, serves everyone in our region.”

PBS Reno currently offers nearly 50 different workshops for students in preschool through 4th grade. For more information about PBS Reno Education Services and PBS Reno Curiosity Classroom workshops, call 775.600.0551 or email education@pbsreno.org.
