Nick Aboumrad is the Vice President of Gas Delivery at NV Energy where he is responsible for establishing and delivering on the vision and goals to provide natural gas service to customers, with a commitment to safety, compliance, reliability, and efficiency, in Nevada’s Reno and Sparks areas and the Tahoe Reno Industrial Center east of Reno. Aboumrad holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Nevada, Reno, and is a licensed professional engineer in the state of Nevada.

“I am excited to be a part of this amazing organization and support its mission,” said Aboumrad. “Providing high quality educational resources for our community is vitally important for not only building a strong foundation for our younger generations but also supporting lifelong learning. Growing up these were the shows I watched and still to this day have fond memories of Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood, the trolley, and all the information he shared.”

Mike Hix is the Northern Nevada Regional President for Meadows Financial, bringing more than 35 years of experience in banking and commercial lending. He holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Nevada, Reno, and is a graduate of the National Commercial Lending School at the University of Oklahoma and the Pacific Coast Banking School at the University of Washington. Highly engaged in the community, Hix serves on the boards of Secret Witness, the University of Nevada Small Business Development Center Advisory Board, and the Reno-Sparks Chamber of Commerce.

“I've always believed in giving back to organizations that make our community stronger,” said Hix. “PBS Reno has a long-standing reputation for education, trusted journalism and community engagement, and I wanted the opportunity to help support its mission and future. I hope to use my leadership and nonprofit experience to help PBS Reno continue to grow its impact, build strong community partnerships, and ensure it remains a valuable resource for northern Nevada for years to come.”

Nick Minutello is a Client Advisor with Whittier Trust Company, where he provides comprehensive financial and fiduciary services to high net-worth individuals and their families. He is a lifelong Nevadan and originally from Las Vegas, and later chose to relocate to Reno where he obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of Nevada, Reno.

“Growing up in the digital age, I had access to near endless amounts of content from all over the world,” said Minutello. “While what the internet has enabled is incredible, I have long felt that the availability of media from everywhere and anytime too easily distracts us from the here and now. I wanted to join the Board of Trustees of PBS Reno as I’ve come to place great value on the role that it plays in our media ecosystem through producing content created by and for our community. I am excited to support the amazing team at PBS Reno as the station continues to grow and adapt into the future.”

PBS Reno Board of Trustees meetings are held quarterly at PBS Reno located at 1670 N. Virginia Street in Reno. For more information, call 775.600.0555 or visit pbsreno.org/about/board-of-trustees
