PBS Reno Hires Director of Membership

RENO, NV (JUN 27, 2025) – PBS Reno is pleased to welcome Barbara Winter to the role of Director of Membership. Winter joined PBS Reno on June 16, 2025.

 “I am honored to join the PBS Reno team and contribute to an organization deeply rooted in service to its community,” said Winter. “Originally from Brazil, I have had the privilege of living in diverse cultures around the world. These experiences have shaped my belief in the power of collaboration and the importance of inclusive, community-driven storytelling. At PBS Reno, I’m excited to help foster a sense of belonging and amplify the voices and stories of our neighbors.” 

Winter brings a unique blend of international experience, cross-sector leadership, and deep community commitment to her role at PBS Reno. Most recently, she served as Impact Director for CoPeace Capital, an innovative impact investing fund working to deploy capital into projects that address global challenges in health, sports, sustainability, and social equity. She also led Green Dining Nevada as Project Manager at greenUP!, a Nevada-based nonprofit that recognizes and certifies sustainable local businesses working to build a stronger, more environmentally responsible economy. Winter’s career spans IT operations, nonprofit strategy, and cultural programming, with international experience in Brazil, Peru, Ethiopia, and New Zealand. She holds a Master of Business Administration with a focus on Environmental Compliance and Sustainability from Southern New Hampshire University and dual Bachelor’s degrees in Political Science and International Relations, and Environmental Studies, with a minor in Cross-Cultural Studies from Carleton College.

“I’m excited to welcome Barbara Winter to the PBS Reno team as our new Director of Membership,” said Emma Glenn, PBS Reno Vice President of Development. “Her passion for community, thoughtful strategy, and creative energy will help us grow our membership and deepen the relationships that keep public media thriving.”

As Director of Membership, Winter will provide strategic leadership for PBS Reno’s membership program, developing and executing innovative strategies to increase donor retention, engagement, and acquisition. She will also lead on-air fundraising efforts in collaboration with the marketing, broadcast, and development departments, optimizing strategies and messaging based on performance analytics, and will maintain and oversee PBS Reno’s donor database ensuring data integrity and leveraging insights to improve engagement strategies.
