PBS Reno Vice President of Content to Present at
PBS Annual Meeting & Tech Summit in Atlanta
RENO, NV (MAY 19, 2025) — PBS Reno Vice President of Content Megan Myers has been invited to participate in a dynamic discussion at the PBS Annual Meeting & Tech Summit during the week of May 19-21, 2025 in Atlanta, GA. The event attracts hundreds of professionals from all corners of the public media systems, including general managers, programmers, and producers as well as those in development, promotion, communication, technology, and education.
Myers will participate in a five-person panel in a discussion titled: Empowering Local Storytelling: One Year with the Local Nielsen TV Dashboard. This discussion will celebrate the one-year anniversary of the Local TV Nielsen Dashboard; share insights into how it has evolved based on station feedback, and showcase its impactful use across departments to tell compelling local stories. Fully funded by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB), the Local Nielsen TV Dashboard for PBS is accessible to all PBS member stations.
Myers, who specializes in strategic analysis with regard to television and streaming behaviors, will provide multiple perspectives from the local PBS member station’s point of view. PBS Reno continues to experience growth in viewership at the local level, during a time when viewership is trending downward at the national level; partly in response to streaming and the wide variety of available sources of content.
“I am honored to be speaking on behalf of PBS Reno at the PBS Annual Meeting,” said Myers. “In a time when broadcast ratings and over-the-air viewership is dropping, we are proud to be a standout station and participate with PBS and CPB in a dynamic conversation that will benefit all stations and how they can best tell the stories of their local markets with these free tools.”
Myers joined PBS Reno in 2003 (then KNPB) in Master Control and was promoted to Vice President of Content in 2017. Having worked her way up via a variety of departments, Myers has developed a deep understanding of the station’s mission, brand, standards, viewing habits, content, and the many more elements that make PBS Reno a valued and trusted organization in the region. In 2023, Myers joined the PBS Programming Advisory Council (PAC) which is comprised of a group of leaders within the PBS member station system who manage the local and national content experience for local communities. The members act as advocates for station program needs, collaborate on improving system-wide programming capabilities, and provide guidance to PBS Programming on content, strategy, and services for the system.
