PBS Reno Welcomes Kyle Dalpe to Board of Trustees
RENO, NV (MAY 21, 2025) — PBS Reno is pleased to welcome Dr. J. Kyle Dalpe to the PBS Reno Board of Trustees.
“Public broadcasting has long played a vital role in education and lifelong learning,” said Dr. Dalpe. “I’m excited to support PBS Reno’s mission and ensure its impact continues to grow across our region.”
Dr. Dalpe has worked in higher education for more than 28 years, supporting student access and success. He is currently serving as President of Western Nevada College (WNC), a community college with campuses in Carson City, Fallon, and Minden. Previously, he served as Provost and Senior Vice President at WNC overseeing academic affairs, finance, and student services. During his time at the college, he has built new programs, defined strategic enrollment management planning and implementation, developed initiatives to increase access and inclusion, and secured external funding to support campus projects. Over the past three years under Dr. Dalpe’s leadership, the college has experienced an 18% increase in enrollment, reaching its highest number of students in more than 12 years. The college has also reached new milestones in fundraising to support students and campus development.
Previous to WNC, Dr. Dalpe worked in various leadership positions at Truckee Meadows Community College including Acting President, Dean of Technical Sciences, Chief of Staff and Director of Institutional Advancement. In his dean role, he helped develop the first training programs to support the emerging advanced manufacturing industry in the northern Nevada region through work with local, state and international employers.
“Dr. Dalpe brings deep experience in education and a strong commitment to community service,” said Kurt Mische, PBS Reno President & CEO. “We’re honored to have him join the board, and we look forward to his contributions as we continue to serve our region.”
