Literacy Comes Alive!
Parents and children listen to a read aloud book, watch a video clip and do hands-on activities. Activities include cooking, math, literacy skills, color recognition and more.
PBS KIDS for Parents and PBS Reno equip families with the knowledge and skills to support child development and to empower children for learning success. As part of the PBS Reno Family Engagement service, we offer Family engagement workshops specifically developed for preschool children (ages 3-5 years old) and their parents.
The first five years of a child’s life are instrumental to social, emotional, and cognitive development now and in the future. Parents play a primary role in a child’s early learning process; they are a child’s first teacher and the first to influence success with learning since 90% of each child’s brain development occurs before age 5.
