SEASON 8 | EP 2

Prehistoric Southern Nevada

Journey from the fossils of an ancient lake bed to the vast expanse of Death Valley as we uncover the deep prehistoric history of Southern Nevada.

Exploring some of the prehistoric history in northern Las Vegas and Death Valley National Park.

Travel deep into the past with host Chris Orr in this exploration of Southern Nevada's ancient landscapes. The adventure begins just outside Las Vegas at the remarkable Ice Age Fossils State Park, where the bones of mammoths, giant sloths, and saber-toothed cats tell the story of a lush, vanished ecosystem.

Discover how the Nevada State Parks Foundation is innovating to support these treasures and enjoy a taste of local partnership at the Las Vegas Brewing Company. Then, the journey continues into the iconic and extreme terrain of Death Valley National Park, a living museum of geologic time.

We’ll also experience modern desert hospitality with a stop at the unique and tag-friendly Tarantula Ranch Camp, blending the ancient spirit of the region with contemporary adventure. This episode is a captivating trip through eons, proving that the past in this part of the world is always present.
