SNB Presents The NNPAC Collective Grand Performance Event 2026
by Rosine Bena
Two years ago, Sierra Nevada Ballet, Sierra School of Performing Arts, and the Steinway Society Music School formed the Northern Nevada Performing Arts Collective (NNPAC) at the beautiful newly renovated state-of-the-art facility on East Moana Lane in Reno. To celebrate this new collaboration and the newly renovated facility, the NNPAC created the first (free to the public) NNPAC Grand Performance Event in June 2024. This event attracted hundreds of performing arts fans and proved to be so popular that it has now become an annual tradition for the Reno community.
The NNPAC Grand Performance Event (still free to the public!) returns May 31, 2026, at 2pm at 500 East Moana Lane in Reno. This year’s eclectic event, made possible by the City of Reno, will feature both the educational and the professional components of the three NNPAC partner arts organizations and will include music, dance, drama, and song. It promises something for every taste and every age.
The Steinway music school will present performances by two award-winning pianists and young students from their Tiny Mozart program.
Sierra School of Performing Arts will feature actors and singers from their 2026 summer musical, Mean Girls (which will be performed in full August 7-22 at Bartley Ranch in Reno) and students from their summer workshop (June 2026).
Sierra Nevada Ballet will showcase excerpts from two of the professional company’s story ballets: Peter and The Wolf (which will be performed in full at SNB’s Dancing At Bartley on July 5th at the Hawkin’s Amphitheater), and Coppélia (which will be performed as a full length story ballet on July 25 at the Pioneer Center in Reno; on July 27 at the Sand Harbor amphitheater at Lake Tahoe; and on August 1 at the Carson City Community Center) and the SNB Academy’s Nocturn from Les Sylphides, solo from Paquita, and the Tiny Dancer Program in a dance piece accompanied by Steinway’s Tiny Mozarts.
Seating for this year’s free Grand Performance Event is limited. Reservations are suggested to confirm your seats ahead of time. Please call SNB at 775-360-8663 to ensure your tickets.
This exciting event is an inspiring prelude to the first NNPAC Summer Performing Arts Workshop/Camp for young children age 5-8 that will take place June 15 to June 19, 2026 at the Moana facility. This fun-filled camp is the first of its kind and specially collaboratively designed for very young students to introduce them to the different forms of performing arts. This five-day (9am to 12pm) camp will feature music classes by the Steinway Society School of Music; dance classes by Sierra Nevada Ballet Academy, and acting and singing classes by Sierra School of Performing Arts. To reserve your spot for this fabulous fun filled workshop/camp, please visit sspa.org and register under NNPAC Performing Arts Summer Camp.
Whether you are interested in being in the audience and entertained by the performing arts or interested in arts education and personally learning a fun art form, the Northern Nevada Performing Arts Collective (made up of Sierra Nevada Ballet, Sierra School of Performing Arts, and the Steinway Society Music School) has something exciting, inspiring, educational, and fun to offer the entire northern Nevada community.
For SNB ticket information or information about performances or information about the Sierra Nevada Academy call 775-360-8663 or visit sierranevadaballet.org.
